What USMLE scores do I need to be considered?

82 or better on Step 1 and Step 2 of the USMLE on the first attempt. Step 3 score is required prior to granting an interview.

How many Letters of Recommendation are required?

At least 3 Letters of Recommendation are required.

Do you accept FMG's?

We accept international medical graduates if they have ECFMG certification and they have successfully completed an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine Residency.

What type of Visa's does your program sponsor?

We will sponsor J1 Visa's only, we do not sponsor H-1 Visas.

Do you offer any Observership or Externship opportunities at your institution?

Unfortunately, SUNY Upstate does not offer observerships or externships.

When are interviews scheduled?

Interviews are scheduled from the last week of September thru October 31.

When should I contact you to check on the status of my application?

Although we would appreciate the opportunity to converse with you directly regarding your academic accomplishments, it is impossible to speak with individual applicants due to the large number of applications received, we ask that you wait for an email from us, which will happen once a decision has been made regarding your application.
